Kerry Sanderson

Kerry Sanderson is an award-winning educator and Positive Psychology practitioner with more than 20 years of experience helping students, faculty, and organizations thrive. She serves as Senior Project Manager of Well-Being & Engagement and Adjunct Faculty in Psychology at GateWay Community College in Phoenix, Arizona, where she teaches the popular course Positive Psychology: The Science of Well-Being.

Kerry holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the University of California, Berkeley, an MBA in Marketing from Rice University, and a Master of Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania, where she studied under Dr. Martin Seligman.

In 2019, Kerry led the bold initiative to position GateWay as the world’s first well-being community college, earning Innovation of the Year. This pioneering work helped elevate well-being to one of the college’s four strategic priorities and contributed to securing a multi-million-dollar grant from the U.S. Department of Education to support student success and institutional transformation.

Through her leadership, teaching, and advocacy, Kerry works to bring the science of well-being into real world educational practice, helping institutions create cultures where people can learn, connect, and flourish.
