
Héctor Escamilla

Héctor Escamilla is an executive leader and board member of the International Positive Education Network (IPEN), with deep expertise in positive leadership, university strategy, innovation, and organizational transformation. He has served as President of Universidad Camilo José Cela (Spain) and President of Tecmilenio University, and previously as Vice President for Development and relations with industry and government at Tecnológico de Monterrey (Mexico).
At Tecmilenio, he led a major institutional transformation by creating a student-centered Well-being Ecosystem that integrates well-being, meaning, and life purpose across students, faculty, and staff—while strengthening employability outcomes. Martin Seligman recognized Tecmilenio as the world’s first “Positive University.”
Héctor also launched the Institute of Well-being and Positive Leadership, a global benchmark in well-being education and leadership development. His purpose is to advance the well-being and full development of individuals and organizations, fostering entrepreneurship, employability, and positive societal impact.
